The Meteorology Department of the Taliban government’s Ministry of Transport and Aviation has warned of the possibility of heavy rainfall, flooding and thunderstorms in 17 provinces of the country.
A press release issued on Sunday stated that this weather condition is likely to occur on Monday in the provinces of Badakhshan, Takhar, Nuristan, Kunar, Laghman, Nangarhar, Kabul, Paktia, Khost, Logar, Panjshir, Kapisa, Parwan, Baghlan, Bamyan, Ghazni and Maidan Wardak – including the Salang route.
According to forecasts, the amount of rainfall in different parts of these provinces will be between 10 and 30 millimeters.
The Meteorology Department has also warned of the possibility of strong winds in the provinces of the western, southern, southeastern, eastern and central regions of the country. The speed of these gusts is predicted to be between 50 and 80 kilometers per hour in some areas.
