Local sources in Nuristan province say a group of tourists from Kandahar province have clashed with Taliban fighters in the province for carrying weapons.
According to sources, the incident took place on Thursday, 2025 June 12, in the tourist areas of Nuristan and the two sides opened fire on each other. Exact details of possible casualties are not available.
Taliban security officials in Nuristan have not commented on the incident.
The Taliban shot dead a tourist in Kunar province last Eid al-Fitr for carrying a weapon.
