Reactions to Iran-Israel Tensions; Trump Speaks of Possibility of US Entering War

Following the escalation of tensions between Iran and Israel, US President Donald Trump emphasized in an interview with ABC that his country is not currently involved in the conflict, but there is a possibility of entering it.

Trump also announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin had contacted him to mediate between the two sides, saying: “Putin is ready and had a long conversation with me about this issue.”

On the other hand, Israeli Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter announced that Israel does not need US military assistance to attack the Fordow enrichment facility in Iran. He emphasized that Tel Aviv has options beyond direct bombing.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed in an interview with Fox News that the Iranian government will be weakened as a result of this war and called on the Iranian people to rise up against their government.

At the same time, Reuters news agency reported, citing American sources, that Trump had vetoed an Israeli plan to assassinate Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic;

A claim that was dismissed by Netanyahu and Israel’s national security adviser as “false and fabricated.”
