Abdul Rab Rasool Sayyaf, a well-known Afghan political figure, condemned the recent Israeli attack on Iran and supported the Islamic Republic.
In a message he posted on the social network “X” on Wednesday, Mr. Sayyaf emphasized that “the attack on the neighboring and brotherly country of Iran is against all human values and international covenants.”
He expressed solidarity with the people and government of Iran and announced that he would pray for the stability of the Islamic Republic in this “serious and great test.”
Abdurrab-ul-Rasoul Sayyaf, who was considered one of Afghanistan’s most influential jihadist leaders in the past decades, recently visited Iran for the first time in years.
A number of Afghan politicians had previously supported Iran’s positions in response to the Israeli attacks and called for a reduction in tensions in the region.
