The US House of Representatives has passed a bill aimed at completely cutting off financial support for the Taliban. The bill, titled “No Tax Dollars for Terrorists,” was introduced by Republican Representative Tim Burchett and passed by a majority vote on Monday, July 2.
Burchett said in a message on the social network X that the bill aims to prevent the transfer of any US tax funds to the Taliban. According to him, the measure is part of efforts to prevent direct and indirect support for groups that the United States considers terrorists.
According to the provisions of this bill, the US State Department will be required to develop and implement a specific strategy to stop financial and material support for the Taliban from foreign countries and institutions.
Earlier, Brian Mast, Chairman of the House Foreign Relations Committee, had emphasized that no funds from the American people’s taxes should be provided to the Taliban.
