Trump warned: The rapid destruction of Iran’s nuclear program is coming.
US President Donald Trump, speaking at a joint news conference with the British Prime Minister in Scotland, threatened that the US would destroy Iran’s nuclear program “quickly and with full force” if it resumed.
“We have destroyed Iran’s nuclear capability, and if they try to start again, we will destroy their program very quickly,” Trump said. “We will do so openly and with full consent.”
Trump also responded to recent comments by the Iranian foreign minister, saying that Iran was sending dangerous messages that it must stop.
The US president added that Iran had ordered Hamas in Gaza, which he said was “totally unacceptable.”
Trump’s comments come as Iran’s nuclear talks with world powers are at a standstill and concerns have grown about the possibility of Tehran resuming its nuclear activities.
A direct US threat of military attack could sharply increase tensions in the region and lead to a wider military conflict.
Tehran’s response to these threats has been limited so far, but Iranian officials have repeatedly stressed that any attack on the country’s nuclear program and security will be met with a tough and full-scale response.
As such, the region is on the verge of a new tension and crisis more than ever before.
