Local sources have confirmed that the Taliban have dismissed Mohammad Saleh Rasikh, one of the veteran and capable professors at Balkh University.
The incident occurred on Thursday, July 31, and according to sources, the Taliban have threatened him, in addition to expelling him, to leave the residential block where the professors live as soon as possible.
Professor Rasek, who is of the Turkmen ethnic group, is not in a good financial situation and if he leaves his place of residence, his family will face serious problems.
He is considered one of the academic figures in the field of literature and culture. He has been active in the field of education and research for years, but due to the current conditions, he has received less support.
This action by the Taliban is seen as a continuation of a trend in which a large number of non-Pashtun and professional professors have been dismissed from the country’s universities;
