A farmer killed by the Taliban in Barakah, Baghlan.
Local sources in Baghlan province say that Taliban-affiliated individuals have killed a farmer in the Barakah district of the province.
According to sources, on Friday, 15 August 2025, Mirza, son of Sultan Mohammad, a resident of Mangalkhel village, was shot and killed by Taliban members when he went to his agricultural land in the Badam Dara area to harvest wheat.
Local residents say that the Taliban in this area threaten and arrest people under various pretexts, and that farmers are under the most pressure.
There have been previous reports of civilians, especially farmers, being killed by members of this group in the northern provinces.
The Taliban’s targeted killings and violent behavior against civilians, instead of providing security, have spread an atmosphere of fear and distrust among the local community.
The Taliban have not yet commented on this.
