Pakistan hands over the bodies of slain TTP fighters to the Taliban.
Local sources in Paktika say Pakistani authorities have handed over the bodies of 57 Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) fighters to the Taliban administration in the province.
The sources said the men were Afghan citizens and were killed in an operation by Pakistani forces in the Zhob region of Balochistan province about two weeks ago.
The TTP has claimed responsibility for dozens of deadly attacks inside Pakistan in recent years, and many of its members are said to be traveling between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The handover of the bodies has once again raised questions about the Taliban’s ties to cross-border extremist groups and their free presence on Afghan soil.
