Anas Haqqani criticizes the luxury of Taliban officials.
Anas Haqqani, a senior Taliban member, indirectly criticized the group’s officials for their greed and instrumental use of power in a speech at a religious school in Kabul.
He emphasized that the government is a “divine trust” and should not be seen as a means of fame and personal gain.
According to him, the Taliban should avoid luxury and family use of power.
These words come at a time when in recent years, numerous reports have been published about the aristocratic life of Taliban leaders, the construction of luxurious palaces and the purchase of million-dollar houses; an issue that has always faced widespread criticism.
