Dozens of people arrested while crossing illegally into Iran in Nimroz province.
The Taliban governor’s office in Nimroz province said dozens of people had been arrested while trying to smuggle into Iran.
According to the Taliban, the men were arrested in Chakhansur, Chaharbarak and Khashrood districts and transferred to their home provinces after initial investigations.
The statement said the move was ordered by the Taliban leader and was part of the fight against human trafficking. Security and intelligence forces have also been ordered to step up their efforts against smuggling networks.
Taliban officials have urged families to prevent their relatives from smuggling to neighboring countries. They say these trips carry serious life risks in addition to legal consequences.
However, local officials in Nimroz have not specified the exact number of detainees.
