McCall: The return of the Taliban brought terrorism back to Afghanistan.
US Congressman Michael McCall, former chairman of the House Foreign Relations Committee, has once again criticized the Joe Biden administration’s hasty and turbulent withdrawal from Afghanistan.
In a report republished on Saturday, he said the decision put thousands of Afghan allies at risk of Taliban retaliation and left at least 1,000 American citizens and thousands of Afghan allies without support.
McCall added that the consequences of the withdrawal are not to be ignored; He believes that the return of the Taliban has led to the return of terrorism to the region.
He recalled that following Biden’s mismanagement, 13 US soldiers and 170 Afghans were killed in the August 26, 2021 terrorist attack at the Aby Gate of Kabul Airport.
The report also said that $7 billion worth of military equipment had fallen into the hands of the Taliban.
The Telegraph also reported that the Taliban had arrested and killed more than 200 former Afghan soldiers since the US withdrew;
