Experts: Shanghai’s stance can illuminate Afghanistan’s future.
Following the recent Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Tianjin, China, Afghanistan’s political landscape has once again become the center of regional attention.
The organization has emphasized the need to establish an inclusive government that includes all ethnic and political groups and is independent, impartial, and free from war, terrorism, and drugs.

The Peace and Justice Movement, which consists of a number of prominent figures from the previous government, including Mohammad Hanif Atmar and Masoom Stanekzai, praised this position and described it as “considerate and forward-looking.”
According to the organization, the continuation of such a regional approach can pave the way for the realization of fundamental rights and freedoms of the people, social justice, and the establishment of lasting peace.
The movement also called on members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to facilitate intra-Afghan dialogue and take practical steps to establish an inclusive and just government.
