Students: The Taliban have deprived us of the dormitory because of our language and ethnicity.
A number of students at Parwan University say that the Taliban have acted with an ethnic and discriminatory approach in the dormitory admission process, giving priority to Pashtun-speaking students over Persian-speaking students.
According to them, the Taliban consider Pashtuns superior to other ethnic groups not only on the basis of language but also ethnicity, and give them more privileges.
Students say that the head and general manager of the dormitory have a double standard, easily accepting Pashtun applicants;
While Persian-speaking students, even though they meet the necessary requirements, are denied this right. One student gave an example of how, despite being eligible for admission, he was rejected, but his Pashtun classmate was accepted without any problems.
According to students, after the Taliban came to power, Mohammad Aziz Kazim, a Pashtun from Ghorband district of Parwan, was appointed as the university president.
They warn that this discriminatory approach has polluted the educational environment, weakened the morale of non-Pashtun students, and created widespread dissatisfaction among students.
