Celebrating the National Day of the Turkmen Language in Andkhoy.

A ceremony to mark the National Day of the Turkmen Language was held in Andkhoy district of Faryab province, attended by educators, poets, students, and a group of people.

At the ceremony, speakers referred to the historical and cultural background of the Turkmen language, calling it one of the ancient branches of the Turkic languages ​​and part of the national identity of the Turkmen people in Afghanistan.

Participants emphasized the need to preserve this language and said that the Turkmen language is not only a means of communication, but also a carrier of the literary, poetic, musical, and intellectual heritage of people who have lived for centuries in the cultural expanse of ancient Turan and Central Asia.

A number of educators and teachers present at the ceremony called for the Ministry of Education to pay more attention to teaching and publishing textbooks in the Turkmen language.

They said that the development and support of the mother tongue plays an important role in developing the talents of the younger generation and strengthening cultural solidarity among the country’s ethnic groups.

The program ended with the reading of Turkmen poems by famous poets of the language, and the participants emphasized that preserving and developing the Turkmen language is part of preserving Afghanistan’s cultural diversity and literary richness.
