Taliban Governor in Takhar Usurped 1,800 Jeribs of Land in Darqad District.
Local sources in Takhar Province say that Qari Fateh Mohammad, the Taliban governor in Darqad district, has illegally seized about 1,800 Jeribs of land from the people.
These sources confirmed on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, that the seized lands are located in the “Katkajar Warply” area and include pastures and cultivated lands of the local people.
According to the sources, Qari Fateh Mohammad has used his influence and various pretexts to take these lands away from the people and lease them to people close to him.
Residents of Darqad complain about “oppression, corruption and abuse of power” by this Taliban official and say that their voices are not heard by any accountable authority.
The Taliban group has not yet reacted to this report.
This is despite the fact that over the past four years, numerous reports have been published of land grabbing, abuse of authority, and violence by Taliban officials in various provinces, including Kabul.
Earlier, the Taliban Minister of Justice was accused of grabbing people’s land and handing it over to his relatives.
