Taliban Announce Resumption of Passport Services in Germany.
The Taliban Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that its consulate in Bonn, Germany, will resume operations. On Sunday, November 9, 2025, the Taliban consulate in Bonn issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter), saying that Afghan citizens residing in Germany can visit the consulate starting Monday to receive consular services.
The statement indicated that applicants must schedule an online appointment through the consulate’s official website before visiting. It also emphasized that the issuance of new Afghan passports will begin soon at this consulate.
This is the first time since the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan in 2021 (1400) that one of their diplomatic missions in Germany has resumed operations. Meanwhile, some Afghan migrants in Germany have urged the German government not to recognize Taliban representatives and to expel them from the country.
