Massoud: “The Goal of the Resistance Is Peace and Inclusive Governance, Not War”.

Ahmad Massoud, leader of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, addressed the Les Rencontres de l’Avenir annual conference in Saint-Raphaël, France, speaking about Afghanistan’s geopolitical shifts and their implications for the region and the world.

The conference, held from November 7 to 9, brought together intellectuals, policymakers, and entrepreneurs. In his remarks, Massoud warned that under Taliban rule, Afghanistan has once again become a hub for training and networking among international terrorist groups.

He noted that terrorist attacks in Pakistan have increased since the Taliban’s return to power, intensifying regional instability. Massoud said Pakistan must learn from its past mistakes and support a legitimate, inclusive Afghan government instead.

He stressed that the resistance’s goal is not war but a political solution that ensures citizens’ rights — including women’s right to education, work, and equal participation.

Massoud called for the continuation of global sanctions against the Taliban, support for legal action in international courts, and prevention of their recognition as a legitimate government.

He urged the international community not to forget Afghanistan amid global crises and to help its people achieve peace and a democratic future.
