Mohaqqiq Warns the Taliban: “The Fate of Authoritarian Regimes Will Be Repeated”.
Mohammad Mohaqqiq, leader of the People’s Islamic Unity Party of Afghanistan, has described the removal of the Uzbek language from the signboard of Jawzjan University as “ignorant, discriminatory, and anti-national identity.” He said this move reflects a pattern that, in his view, will eventually lead the Taliban to the same fate as other authoritarian regimes.
He called the act a sign of the “final breaths of the Taliban’s medieval regime,” stating that such behavior demonstrates open hostility toward the cultural identity of Afghanistan’s ethnic groups. According to Mohaqqiq, the removal of the Uzbek signboard is evidence of the Taliban’s anti-cultural policies against various communities. He stressed that the Taliban’s self-declared emirate is more isolated than ever and, instead of being accountable to the people, has turned to ethnic favoritism and cultural repression.
Mohaqqiq, referencing the collapse of past autocratic governments such as those of Daoud Khan and Dr. Najibullah, warned that the Taliban will not escape a similar fate. He added that the People’s Islamic Unity Party stands firmly with the Uzbek and Turkic communities of Afghanistan and will defend their cultural, political, and identity rights.
