
Pakistan: 25 Militants Killed in Bannu Operation, 18 of Them Afghan Nationals
In a large-scale security operation in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistani forces killed 25 militants, according to Pakistani security sources, 18 of whom were Afghan citizens.
The operation was carried out following intelligence reports regarding armed group movements in the area.
Pakistani officials stated that investigations revealed 11 of the deceased militants were suicide attackers. Meanwhile, Geo News reported that three militants who attacked the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters in Peshawar were also Afghan nationals.
The assault began this morning with a suicide bomber detonating at the main entrance of the headquarters, allowing two other attackers to enter the compound amid the ensuing chaos. Security forces neutralized both intruders and completed a clearance operation of the premises.
