Mujahid: 9 Children and 1 Woman Killed in Pakistan’s Airstrikes in Khost
Official and local sources in Afghanistan report ongoing Pakistani airstrikes in the provinces of Khost, Paktika, and Kunar.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Taliban, confirmed that in last night’s attack on the Gerbez district of Khost, nine children and one woman were killed. He described the attacks as a “violation of Afghanistan’s airspace” and stated that the Taliban will respond “appropriately and at the right time.”
Meanwhile, local sources reported that Mullah Ibrahim Stanikzai, a local Taliban commander, along with 11 fighters, were killed in the Khost airstrike. The Pakistani military stated that these attacks were carried out in response to terrorist assaults by Afghan forces on Pakistani cities. Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai condemned the strikes, noting that several women and children were among the victims.
