India’s Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson stated that the visit of Nooruddin Azizi, Afghanistan’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, to New Delhi produced positive results in the field of trade.

The spokesperson said both sides agreed on initiating cargo flights between Delhi–Kabul and Amritsar–Kabul, sending commercial attachés, and establishing a joint committee on investment and trade.

Azizi, in interviews with Indian media, emphasized expanding trade cooperation, developing new transport corridors, and India’s crucial role in strengthening Afghanistan’s economy. He highlighted investment opportunities in Afghanistan’s mining and industrial sectors for Indian companies and called for increased economic and technical cooperation.

The Afghan minister also said that the government is working to improve security and plans to invite Indian officials to Kabul to further develop trade and tourism, despite India not yet officially recognizing the Taliban.
