Yasin Zia: Reorganization of Former Security Forces Has Begun.

General Yasin Zia, leader of the Afghanistan Freedom Front, has accused former President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani of “violating his oath,” “abandoning responsibility,” and “aligning with the Taliban” in response to Ghani’s recent statements.

Zia said Ghani speaks about Afghanistan’s future while having directly abandoned his constitutional and military responsibilities. He reiterated that the collapse of the Afghan government in 2021 was a “political failure,” not a military one, and Ghani was at its center. According to Zia, the ongoing resistance by former security forces and civilians against the Taliban is a “just struggle to defend territorial integrity and establish a system based on the people’s vote,” not an attempt to divide the country.

He stated that former security forces are reorganizing to confront what he called a “regressive regime,” insisting that the past defeat is not acceptable. Zia warned that Afghanistan’s future will be shaped by a “nationwide struggle” of committed citizens, not by the narratives of those he believes contributed to the crisis.
