National Resistance Front Condemns Zalmay Khalilzad’s Role in Afghanistan Crisis.
The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRF), led by Ahmad Massoud, has sharply criticized Zalmay Khalilzad, the former U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation, describing him as one of the individuals who has caused “the greatest harm to the people of Afghanistan and the United States.” The NRF states that Khalilzad’s approach and decisions have had severe consequences for the country’s future.
In a statement published on its official page, the NRF emphasized that Khalilzad’s “support for the terrorist group Taliban” paved the way for the hasty and disastrous withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan—an event that, according to the NRF, “handed an entire country over to terrorist networks and forced millions of Afghans into displacement.”
The NRF added that Khalilzad’s decisions not only pushed Afghanistan into widespread crises but also increased global terrorist threats, particularly against the United States, with repercussions that continue to unfold.
