Zardad Faryadi Strongly Criticizes Taliban’s Harassment.
Zardad Faryadi, a commander of Hezb-e-Islami led by Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, has strongly criticized the Taliban for persistently pressuring and harassing him and his colleagues in recent months. He said these actions have caused serious dissatisfaction among commanders of the party.
Faryadi stated, “I and other commanders of Hezb-e-Islami have pledged allegiance to the Taliban and have repeatedly declared our support. We even said we would fight Pakistan on their behalf if necessary. But the Taliban’s recent conduct has upset us, and this trend could create distance between us.”
He called on the Taliban leadership to cooperate with Hezb-e-Islami commanders and stop the “humiliating and harassing” behavior of their fighters, warning that continued misconduct could negatively affect relations between the two sides.
