Emphasis on Supporting the National Resistance Front to Counter Terrorist Threats
Ali Maisam Nazary, Head of Foreign Relations for the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, reacted to the arrest of Jan Shah Safi in the United States, stating that Safi was among those who entered the US after the fall of Afghanistan in 2021. He noted that Safi’s arrest demonstrates that individuals with ties to extremist groups were able to reach Western countries following the chaos of that year.
Nazary emphasized that among the thousands who fled Afghanistan to escape extremism, some individuals affiliated with the Taliban, Al-Qaeda, and ISIS exploited the disorder to enter Western countries, particularly the United States. He added that some of these individuals are now allegedly planning attacks against civilians and threatening global security.
Referring to repeated warnings from the National Resistance Front over the past years, Nazary said prolonged negligence allowed terrorist activities to strengthen under Taliban protection. He stressed that the only effective way to counter this trend is to support the Afghan resistance and address the crisis at its source an action he described as essential for the security of Afghanistan, the region, and the international community.
