Taliban Education Minister Criticizes Interior Minister: “Do Not Make Yourself Amir”.

Following recent critical remarks by Taliban Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani, Neda Mohammad Nadim, the group’s Minister of Higher Education, emphasized the necessity of full obedience to the Taliban leader during a speech in Paktia province.

Referring to the structure of the so-called “Islamic system” promoted by the Taliban, Nadim stated that having more than one Amir in such a system leads to corruption, discord, and failure. He called on young people to follow the orders of Taliban leader Hibatullah Akhundzada unconditionally.

These remarks come amid emerging signs of public disagreements among senior Taliban officials. Meanwhile, Haqqani criticized what he described as a “rule based on fear and intimidation” in Khost province, arguing that the group, which was once pressured by global powers, should not treat the people with violence, humiliation, or harshness.
