Taliban Moral Scandal in Faryab: Locals Arrest Three Officials.
Three senior Taliban officials in Faryab Damla Dawood Saadat (Head of University Coordination), Qari Ehsanullah (Head of Urban Intelligence Division 9), and Qari Asadullah (Head of Intelligence Division 7) were reportedly identified and detained by local residents on Thursday, December 26, 2025, at 12:30 a.m. local time, in the Char Samawat area of Maymana during an illicit gathering with four women.
While the identities of all women present are documented, their names are withheld for ethical reasons.
Reports indicate that one of these women acted as a coordinator for the unlawful interactions between the Taliban officials and the other women.
During the arrests, armed Taliban members intervened directly and freed the three officials, illustrating the group’s extensive local influence and the absence of independent justice mechanisms.
Local sources expressed concern that despite exposure of this scandal, the three individuals continue their misconduct freely under the protection of powerful Taliban leaders and local networks.
The lack of a legitimate, transparent, and accountable system leaves residents with no legal recourse, significantly eroding public trust in local governance and social security.
