Explosion at Taliban Urban Court in Faryab.
Sources in Faryab Province say that a powerful explosion occurred on Thursday evening, 1 January 2026, in Maimana, the provincial capital.
According to these sources, the explosion took place at around 6:30 p.m. inside the Taliban’s urban court office.
The blast reportedly coincided with a Taliban meeting, after which sounds of gunfire and clashes were heard in the surrounding area.
The intensity of the explosion caused widespread concern among residents, and its impact was clearly felt in several parts of Maimana.
