The Afghanistan Freedom Front reported that several Taliban fighters were killed or injured in a rocket attack in Faryab province.

According to the group’s statement, the operation took place on Thursday evening, January 1, 2026, targeting the Taliban Appellate Court building in the provincial center.

The statement adds that the attack specifically targeted a meeting of the so-called “Judicial Police” of the Taliban, an operational force functioning under the group’s religious police.

The pre-planned rocket strike lasted approximately 15 minutes, resulting in four Taliban fighters killed and two others wounded.

The Afghanistan Freedom Front emphasized that this operation is part of its ongoing military actions against the Taliban in northern provinces. The Taliban have not issued an official response regarding the attack.
