Mullah Baradar’s Statements in Response to the Formation of the “Unity Stream” Outside Afghanistan.
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Taliban, has stated that all threatening groups and political opposition streams against the Taliban have been eliminated.
He made these remarks on Sunday, January 4, 2026, during a graduation ceremony for students at a religious school in Kandahar province.
These statements came in response to the formation of a new political coalition outside Afghanistan.
The comments followed the establishment of the “Unity Stream”, comprising several political figures and opposition factions abroad.
This newly formed coalition has presented itself as a comprehensive political framework aimed at coordinating the political activities of groups opposing the Taliban.
The initiative, known as the National Unity Alliance, brings together entities such as the Supreme Council for National Resistance of Afghanistan, the National Assembly for the Salvation of Afghanistan, and the National Movement for Peace and Justice.
Baradar further claimed that over the past four years, political participation within Afghanistan has been strengthened, and the current governing system is more stable and balanced compared to previous periods.
He also called on regional and international countries to engage in active regional cooperation with the Taliban.
Meanwhile, the emergence of opposition political and military streams abroad, coupled with military attacks against the Taliban inside Afghanistan, indicates the ongoing resistance to the group.
