Ten Killed or Injured in Traffic Accident in Daikundy.

A traffic accident in Miramur district of Daikundi province has left one person dead and nine others injured.

Local Taliban authorities reported that the incident occurred around 12:00 PM on Friday, January 16, 2026, in the Barkar Hasanreza area.

According to published information, a Flancoach passenger vehicle carrying residents of Barkar Hasanreza village to the nearby Sefidtaq village for a funeral ceremony veered off the road and overturned.

The exact cause of the accident has not been officially disclosed. Traffic police stated that ten passengers four women and six men, all local residents were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Local sources added that the injured were transported with the help of community members to medical centers in Ghazni province, and the condition of some remains under observation.

Daikundy is among Afghanistan’s most underdeveloped provinces and has historically received little investment during both the republican period and the Taliban era.

Reports indicate that the Taliban have shifted many projects allocated for Hazara-majority areas to Pashtun-majority regions, highlighting significant inequities in resource allocation and regional development.
