Sources in Panjshir report that Faiz Panjshiri, also known as Reis Faiz, a resident of Manjhor village, was stabbed multiple times to death in Pul-e-Charkhi prison.

According to sources, the incident occurred several days ago, and at least eight stab wounds were found on his body. His body was returned to his family and buried in his native Panjshir.

Informed sources stress that this was not an ordinary incident or a simple fight, but part of a new Taliban plan to suppress and eliminate young Tajiks, particularly anti-Taliban Panjshiris, inside prisons.

They added that access to knives in prisons is limited to Taliban affiliates, making it unlikely that the act occurred without their involvement.

Faiz Panjshiri’s family has rejected unofficial narratives about his death, insisting that it was not the result of a routine fight.

They are demanding an independent investigation, but the Taliban have so far remained silent, further raising questions and concerns about the circumstances of his death.
