Warning by Seyed Zekrullah Hashemi to Persian-Speaking Employees: One-Month Deadline to Learn Pashto.

Informed sources from the State-Owned National Bus Company say that Seyed Zekrullah Hashemi, the newly appointed Financial and Administrative Director, issued a warning to Persian-speaking employees roughly 20 days after assuming office, instructing them to learn Pashto within one month.

According to the sources, Hashemi emphasized the exclusive use of Pashto as the administrative language from his first days in office.

In recent weeks, this policy has been enforced more strictly, raising concerns among a number of employees.

Sources further report that Hashemi granted Persian-speaking staff a one-month deadline to acquire Pashto, while simultaneously adopting a tense and confrontational management style, which has negatively affected the workplace environment and triggered dissatisfaction among employees.

This development comes as Hashemi has previously been known for controversial public statements, including remarks about the term “university” and his hardline views on social interactions between men and women.

His latest warning has once again pushed debates over language policy, administrative conduct, and ideological approaches within Taliban-run state institutions into the public spotlight.
