Moral Corruption Among the Taliban in Badakhshan Reaches an Alarming Peak.

Credible reports from Badakhshan Province indicate that moral corruption within the Taliban structure has reached an unprecedented and shocking level.

Local sources report that Qari Mohammad Asif, the Taliban district governor of Raghistan, abused his position and administrative immunity to lead an organized network of extortion and moral fraud.

According to sources, this five-member network, operating in cooperation with an armed Taliban member named Mullah Hamidullah, targeted money exchangers and local traders while operating under the cover of official authority.

Verified information indicates that a woman named Ayesha, acting on the direct orders of the Taliban district governor, played a central role in the network by deceiving money exchangers in Badakhshan, obtaining immoral images and videos from them, and then demanding large sums of money in exchange for non-disclosure.

Sources confirm that the network had previously extorted USD 50,000 from a local money exchanger named Anwar Khan.

The case took a darker turn when Qari Mohammad Asif allegedly committed sexual assault against Ayesha and then, through threats of exposing the files, forced her to continue cooperating with the network.

After the scandal was exposed within Ayesha’s family, her relatives traveled to Faizabad and filed an official complaint against the Taliban district governor.

Following the complaint, Ayesha and Mullah Hamidullah were arrested; however, Qari Mohammad Asif identified as the main figure behind the network has remained immune from arrest due to his ties with Mohammad Ismail Ghaznawi, the Taliban governor of Badakhshan.

This case once again demonstrates that within the Taliban structure, neither law nor morality holds meaning, and that power has become a shield for corruption, abuse, and total impunity.
