Powerful Explosion in Kunduz.
Local sources say that at approximately 7:00 p.m. local time today, a powerful explosion occurred on Azadi Road in Kunduz city.
The target of the blast was reported to be a Toyota Corolla 2000 model vehicle. The vehicle is said to have belonged to Taliban intelligence.
Several personnel from that department were reportedly killed and wounded. Sources add that following the explosion, Taliban forces completely sealed off the area.
They prevented residents from approaching the site.
Precise details regarding the number of casualties and the extent of the damage have not yet been released. However, the intensity of the explosion was described as significant.
Local sources also note that the attack comes amid an increase in operations against Taliban forces in northern Afghanistan.
In recent months, the group has reportedly suffered considerable losses. So far, the Taliban have not issued any official response regarding the incident.
Given the heavy censorship environment in Afghanistan, domestic media are not permitted to cover such incidents.
Only media outlets outside the country, with access to credible internal sources, are able to report accurately on such events.
