The Controversial Case of Juma Khan Fateh Leads to His Removal from Badakhshan and Transfer to Zabul;
According to an official letter issued by the Taliban, Juma Khan Fateh has been removed from his previous position in Badakhshan Province and appointed as Deputy Governor of Zabul.
This decision was made following a wave of media protests and criticism regarding his performance in the Darwaz area; criticisms that have gained wide local and regional attention in recent weeks.
Local sources state that part of the dissatisfaction relates to allegations of coercive behavior, strict enforcement measures, and disputes over resource management, particularly gold mines in areas under his responsibility.
Some analysts believe that this reassignment may be an attempt to reduce local tensions and readjust resource management for the Taliban in Badakhshan; a province whose mines have consistently held significant economic importance.
Previously, reports had also been published regarding allegations related to drug trafficking and alcoholic beverages against Juma Khan Fateh.
According to informed sources, delegations from Tajikistan had raised these issues in Kabul by presenting documents and evidence. Although the Taliban have not officially provided details regarding these allegations, his reassignment under current circumstances has increased speculation about internal disagreements and political pressures surrounding this case.
