Iran’s Clear Reaction to Mediation Efforts; National Dignity and Authority Are Non-Negotiable.
Masoud Pezeshkian, head of the Iranian government and a member of the “Leadership Council” of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on Friday, 6 March 2026, published a message on the social network X warning other countries not to approach Iranian officials for mediation between Iran, the United States, and Israel. He emphasized that Iran’s response to mediation efforts is completely clear.
Pezeshkian wrote in the message: “Some countries have begun efforts for mediation. Our response is clear: we are committed to lasting peace in the region, but in defending the dignity and authority of our country we have no hesitation. The audience for mediation should be those who, by underestimating the people of Iran, have fueled the flames of conflict.”
These remarks were made at a time when the Islamic Republic of Iran says it has been subjected to imposed attacks and has responded to regional countries where United States bases are stationed. The tensions have also disrupted the flow of energy exports from the Persian Gulf and created widespread concerns in the global energy market.
