Turkey’s Foreign Minister Spoke of the Possibility of Regime Change in Iran.
Hakan Fidan, Turkey’s foreign minister, said in a recent interview the war in the region may end with a change in the structure of power in Iran.
He stated that the United States and Israel are trying to turn Iran into a country that no longer poses a threat to regional security.
The Turkish foreign minister added that in the short term the conflict may end only with the destruction of Iran’s main military capabilities; however, in the long term the possibility of regime change in the country is also being discussed. He emphasized that these scenarios could have wide consequences for regional stability and the security of the Middle East.
Fidan further noted that the international community must be prepared to face possible consequences and closely monitor developments in Iran. He warned that any fundamental change in Iran’s power structure could create internal unrest and regional repercussions and affect the security of neighboring countries.
