Ahmad Massoud Warns the World; Urges Immediate European Support Against the Taliban.
Ahmad Massoud, speaking at a controversial meeting in Paris, once again warned about the growth of international terrorism under Taliban support in Afghanistan and called on European countries to back resistance efforts against the group.
Ali Maisam Nazary announced that the meeting was attended by French officials, civil society activists, and members of the Afghan diaspora, with its main focus being the “urgent need for action” in response to the current situation.
According to organizers, the atmosphere of the meeting was heavily influenced by warnings about Afghanistan’s future. In the first panel, severe restrictions against women were described as an “unprecedented crisis,” while the second panel debated various forms of political, civil, and even military resistance against the Taliban.
Speakers stressed that global indifference could have dangerous consequences for regional stability.
Massoud, who has led the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan for over four years, reiterated in a firm tone the necessity of defeating the Taliban and pledged that the struggle to “restore stability and reshape the balance of power” would continue.
The front has also reported carrying out scattered attacks against Taliban forces and claims to have inflicted casualties, assertions that have further intensified the political and security climate surrounding Afghanistan’s future.
