Mullah Yaqoob Says No One Can Threaten Taliban Rule.
Taliban Defense Minister Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob said no individual or group has the ability to threaten the Taliban government, adding that Taliban forces across Afghanistan are fully prepared to defend their rule. He urged members of the movement to remain disciplined and loyal. His remarks come as tensions continue to escalate in Badakhshan, where a standoff with dissident commander Juma Khan Fateh has raised fears of internal armed conflict.
