A Baloch opponent of the Islamic Republic of Iran was killed in Herat

A Baloch opponent of the Islamic Republic of Iran was killed in Herat.

Local sources in Herat say that Rostam Ijbari, a Baloch opponent of the Iranian government, died on Thursday (October 9, 2025) after being shot by unknown individuals in the city.

According to sources, gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire on Ijbari on Wednesday evening, and he died of his injuries after being taken to the hospital.

Rostam Ijbari came to Afghanistan from Iran about a year ago and lived in the city of Herat.

Sources say that he was being pursued by security forces in Iran and had been accused by the Revolutionary Guards of collaborating with the Jaish al-Adl group.

Local sources also say that the Revolutionary Guards have great influence in parts of western Afghanistan through local networks and affiliated individuals, and some of the targeting of Iranian opponents takes place in these areas.
