In one of the most shocking cases of domestic violence in Afghanistan, a man in Kandahar province brutally beheaded his 25-year-old wife.
The incident took place on Tuesday, 2025 June 10, in the “Yakh Kariz” area of the 15th district of Kandahar city.
According to local sources, the victim was a mother of three young children, one of whom is a newborn. The perpetrator of this crime, Fazal Mohammad, who was addicted to drugs, was arrested by the Taliban police after the murder.
The local police confirmed the incident and announced the start of an investigation into the matter.
With the passage of nearly four years since the Taliban returned to power, reports of domestic violence and family murders against women have increased in different parts of the country.
