A massive fire in Kunduz; the Taliban are incapable of managing crises.
Local sources in Kunduz reported that on Monday, September 8, a massive fire broke out at a fuel sales center in the “Kabul Port” area of the city.
According to social media users, the incident began at the “Chahar Dara Fuel Store” and continued for hours.
The intensity of the flames was such that it engulfed large parts of the fuel sales center, causing serious concerns among the city’s residents.
Eyewitnesses said that the fire caused heavy casualties and damage, but the exact number of victims is not yet available.
While the Taliban, as local rulers, were expected to take immediate and effective measures to contain the incident, the lack of relief forces and the delay in responding have once again exposed the group’s weakness in crisis management.
Local Taliban officials have so far remained silent about the cause and manner of the fire and have not provided any information about casualties and damages.
This silence and inability to provide a transparent response, according to many people, indicates the Taliban’s weakness in managing natural disasters and their inability to protect the lives and property of citizens.
