Afghan Freedom Front: Four Taliban Members Killed and Wounded in Kunduz Attack.
The Afghan Freedom Front announced that four Taliban fighters were killed or injured in an attack in Kunduz city.
According to the statement, the incident took place on Friday evening, January 2, 2026, around 7:00 PM, near Mufti Siraj Mosque on the Bandar Imam Sahib road.
The attack targeted a Taliban checkpoint, resulting in two fighters killed and two others wounded. The Freedom Front said the assault was carried out guerrilla-style, and a military vehicle carrying Taliban forces was set on fire.
So far, the Taliban have not responded to the incident. This comes amid reports in recent weeks of increased attacks against Taliban forces in northern Afghanistan, especially in Kunduz province.
