Afghan Journalists in Iran and Pakistan Face Unjust and Uncertain Conditions.
The Afghanistan Media Support Organization has stated that Afghan journalists residing in Iran and Pakistan are facing unjust and insecure conditions, citing a lack of legal protection and prolonged uncertainty in case processing.
In a statement released on Saturday, December 20, 2025, the organization said that around 150 Afghan journalists in Iran and Pakistan are awaiting French visas. It also reported that six journalists have recently been deported from their host countries.
The statement warns that delays or rejections of asylum applications have exposed these journalists to serious security and livelihood risks. The organization has called on international institutions to take urgent action to address their situation.
