Afghanistan Freedom Front Blames Taliban for Assassinations, Promises Firm Response.

The Afghanistan Freedom Front strongly condemned the assassination of General IkramUddin Sari, a former officer of the Afghan National Police, and Commander Mohammad Amin Almas in Tehran’s Vali-e-Asr neighborhood.

In an official statement, the Front described the act as “criminal and terrorist” and directly held the Taliban responsible.

According to the statement, this assassination is part of the Taliban’s policy of physically eliminating former Afghan military personnel, even beyond the country’s borders.

The statement emphasized that targeting former military officers, even in exile, demonstrates the continued threats and pursuit of Taliban opponents.

The Afghanistan Freedom Front highlighted that the Taliban consider former officers a threat to their illegitimate rule and, over the past years, have pursued, threatened, and assassinated them without regard for legal, ethical, or human considerations.

The Front affirmed that it will not remain silent in the face of such actions and reserves the right to respond appropriately within the framework of the legitimate struggle of the Afghan people.

Simultaneously, the Afghanistan Freedom Front urged the Islamic Republic of Iran to take immediate and effective measures to protect Afghan refugees, especially former military personnel, to identify and prosecute the perpetrators in accordance with the law, and to halt the deportation of former Afghan officers from Iran.

The Front also requested the United Nations to facilitate the immediate and safe transfer of these individuals to secure third countries, based on international refugee conventions and human rights principles.

The Front warned that neglecting the safety of these individuals could contribute to transnational terrorism and regional instability.
