Afghanistan Freedom Front has claimed responsibility for the attack on a Taliban checkpoint in Surobi district of Kabul province.
The group says the attack took place on Saturday evening, November 1, 2025, at around 06:45 near the Taliban security headquarters on the Kabul-Jalalabad highway.
According to Afghanistan Freedom Front statement, one Taliban member was killed and another was wounded in the attack, which was carried out by the Front’s eastern zone operations unit.
The group claims that the operation was carried out by “the Front’s guerrillas.”
This incident comes as targeted attacks against the Taliban have increased in various parts of the country in recent weeks.
The Taliban have not yet commented on the incident or Afghanistan Freedom Front’s claims.
