Armed attack on Taliban base in Takhar; Azadi Front claims responsibility.

The Afghan Liberation Front has issued a press release announcing an armed attack on a Taliban base in Takhar province and has claimed responsibility for it.

According to the press release, which was released on Tuesday, August 5, the attack took place at night on the base of the Taliban border unit leader in the village of Turki, Darqad district of Takhar.

Sources from the front say that as a result of the attack, one Taliban member was killed and another was injured.

The press release states that there is no information yet about the fate of Agha Omar, known as Zalgi, the local Taliban commander.

In the past few days, local sources had also reported an explosion in the same province, but it is not clear whether this explosion is related to the recent attack.

The Taliban have not yet officially reacted to this incident.

The Azadi Front has previously claimed responsibility for several similar attacks in other provinces.
