
Armed robbers steal nearly a kilo of gold in Sar-e-Pul.
Local sources in Sar-e-Pul province say armed robbers attacked a gold shop in the center of the province on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
According to sources, the incident occurred at around 1:15 pm and the armed attackers took a large amount of gold with them after entering the shop of a gold shopkeeper named Mohammad Naeem Amiri.
According to reports, during the attack, Mohammad Naeem Amiri’s brother was shot by the attackers and injured.
He is currently undergoing surgery in the hospital. Sources say the amount of gold stolen was nearly a kilo.
Taliban officials have not yet reacted to this.
This incident comes at a time when, despite the Taliban’s claims of providing nationwide security, there are reports of increased incidents of theft, murder and insecurity in the northern provinces, including Sar-e-Pul and Jawzjan.
Previously, unknown gunmen had targeted a former commander of the National Movement Party in Jawzjan and killed his brother.
